What you may do with what we publish, and the limits of what this site is.
Using what we publish
Quote us. Cite us. Teach from us. Our essays, Capability Library entries, and papers exist to be read and argued with, and hoarded understanding is stunted understanding — that is a stated principle rather than a courtesy. A citation block appears at the foot of every long document with a permanent URL, because we intend those addresses to still resolve decades from now.
What we ask in return is accuracy: quote in context, link to the original rather than reproducing it wholesale, and if we are wrong, tell us so the correction can be public.
The name and the mark
The Arohan name, wordmark, and ascent motif are ours and are not licensed for reuse. Usage rules for journalists are on the writing to us. Our ventures carry an endorsement lockup under separate agreement; the endorsement is revocable and its use by anyone else is not permitted.
What this site is not
Nothing here is professional, legal, financial, or engineering advice, and nothing on this domain is an offer to sell anything. Commercial terms belong to our ventures and are agreed in writing with them, not here.
Forward-looking statements about what Arohan intends to build are exactly that — intentions, written in the future tense on purpose. We report each year on which of them we met, which we abandoned, and which were wrong.
Links out
We link to other people's work because it is worth reading, not because we endorse everything at the other end. Links to our own ventures' sites are signposted as leaving this domain.
